These programmes are designed to improve employment opportunities for young people, by providing training, work placement, and personal development both at home and abroad in countries such as Canada, USA and Spain.
The main objective of the Wider Horizons programmes is to develop the potential of young people by enhancing their personal and social development through skills training and practical work experience.
Tyrone Donegal Partnership offer a variety of programmes, giving participants the opportunity to enhance their skills, qualifications and experiences both work and social related.
These are cross border/cross community programmes aimed at promoting greater understanding between the two traditions North and South and to foster peace and reconciliation through mutual understanding.
This blend of participants is critical to the promotion of reconciliation and dialogue. The coming together of the various cultures helps young people to better understand and appreciate each other’s background and paves the way for them to challenge their own values and pre-conceptions when they go overseas, to experience new cultures.
Graduates of this programme have found it to be extremely invaluable in their goals to securing a career of their choice and the chance of a life time to experience some of the world’s different cultures.
The programmes are being funded by the International Fund For Ireland, FAS and DEL.
