Local Economic Development

Numerous research reports have revealed that the border region is disadvantaged in terms of virtually every socio-economic indicator. Tyrone Donegal Partnership has delivered numerous successful interventions to address this situation and to stimulate the main local economic drivers for growth.

Interfood I and II Programme

Interfood I and II Programme facilitated over 50 food companies in the border region through a process of business development, group learning, networking and co-operation. Outcomes with the programme included 20% increase in sales and the creation of 50+ new jobs.

Craft Connections I and II

Craft Connections is a 24-month long programme that was designed to deliver a suite of programmes targeted at enhancing the profitability of the Craft Sector (both private and community sectors) in Tyrone and Donegal. Outputs included the creation of 10 part-time jobs by the end of each project, an increase in export sales of 10%, an increased turnover of 20% by participating businesses over a 2 year period. Other key areas included the assistance in selling / promoting work / products and assistance in financing participation to major events including Guild Hall Craft Fair, St Georges Market Craft Fair, National Craft Fair - RDS, Showcase Ireland etc to name but a few.

The Product Transfer Programme

The Product Transfer Programme assists SME’s to develop their business and expand their product range by securing the rights, through either a joint venture, licensing agreement or other form of strategic alliance, to market complementary products which have been designed or manufactured by other European/US companies, in a designated target market. The Product Transfer Programme worked with 15 indigenous businesses from the Tyrone and Donegal area and secured 49 jobs and £919,000 sales for participating companies.
